Description
Crosby House is an early 19th-century house featuring Flemish bond brickwork and stone dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has five bays, with two-storey single bay wings on either side. A tetrastyle portico made of calciferous sandstone showcases fluted Greek Doric columns and a full entablature adorned with triglyphs and metopes. The house and wings are accented with a stone plinth, string course, and quoins. The windows have moulded surrounds and are fitted with sashes and glazing bars. The entrance includes side lights and a patterned fanlight above a six-panel door. The listing does not include the outbuildings, but South Garth, which is located behind and connected to the original Crosby House, is listed separately.
