Description
South Garth is a house built in the mid-18th century. It features Flemish bond brick walls, a stone plinth course, coped gables, and a graduated slate roof with brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance is highlighted by a moulded stone surround with a later inserted plain fanlight above a six-panel door. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, flat brick arches, and keystones. There are steps leading up to the entrance, and a cellar door is located down steps to the right. This building was originally known as Crosby House, while the current Crosby House is situated at the rear and has its own separate listing. Outbuildings are not included in this listing.
