Description
Rosehill is a large house built in the late 18th century with later additions and alterations. It features ashlar stonework with end pilasters, an eaves band, and a cornice. The roof is covered with graduated slate and has mid and end chimneys. The entrance front is convex-curved with wings, and the house is two storeys high. The five-bay curved section includes a central Doric porch that is distyle in antis, with two sash windows with glazing bars to the left, one to the right, and four above. There is a full-height round-headed stair window on the extreme right. The kitchen wing to the left has been remodelled in the 20th century and is of no particular interest. The projecting wing on the right features an eyebrow dormer on its return. The garden elevation has two full-height canted bay windows with sashes set in architraves, and there is a small Venetian window on each gable. The wall adjoining to the right has a pedimented Ionic door surround facing the rear of the kitchen wing.
