Description

The chancel arch to the south of the Church of St Bridget is a Grade II listed structure, likely dating from the 13th century. It features coursed, squared rubble buttressing and a pointed arch composed of two chamfered orders, supported by responds with polygonal capitals. On the south side, a brass plate notes the burials of various members of the Fletcher family nearby. Tombstones are affixed to the arch, including one for William Graham from 1755, which is ornately carved with a broken pediment and foliate swags.
