Description
The Rectory, also known as Aikton Hall, is a 1828 rectory constructed of calciferous sandstone ashlar with flush quoins and a graduated greenslate roof, featuring ashlar chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. A panelled door is set within an ornate Ionic doorcase, inscribed with "RICHARD FELL, RECTOR 1828." Canted bay windows with glazing bars are present on the ground floor, and sash windows with glazing bars are above. The outbuildings are not of particular historical or architectural interest. This building demonstrates group value from the presence of the church and other listed structures in Aikton.
