Description
Croft End House is a house from the early to mid-19th century located in Egremont. It features incised stucco over a rubble base, with corner pilasters and an eaves band. The roof is made of graduated slate with stone copings and a cast-iron gutter. There are corniced stone chimneys at the mid and end of the building. The house has a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed door set in a Greek Doric porch, flanked by tripartite sash windows on both floors, and a single sash window above the door, all with glazing bars in stone surrounds. The low area walls, approximately 3 feet high, are constructed of coursed rubble with quoins and feature chamfered coping. The square, rusticated gate piers sit on plinth blocks and have ogee finials on their corniced caps. The property is enclosed by low wrought-iron railings with square, spear-head standards.
