Description

Oak House is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century. It features English garden wall bond brickwork with stone dressings and a stone-slate roof at the front, while the rear has slates and brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high with six bays. The entrance is framed by a moulded stone surround. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set on stone sills and are topped with segmental brick arches. There is a blind window above the second minor entrance, and a circular tie-plate is located between the floors at the front. This house was formerly known as Holme Farm and was associated with the nearby Rickerby House, which is now Eden School.
