Description

The Brown Cow Public House, formerly Barclays Bank and the Huntsman Hotel, is located on the south side of Main Street. This building dates back to the 19th century and features a cement-rendered and roughcast exterior with stone bands and slate roofs. The Brown Cow is two storeys high, with a central panelled door and two sash windows on the lower floor and three sash windows on the upper floor. The Huntsman Hotel, part of the same structure, is three storeys tall and has seven sash windows on each upper floor. It also boasts a moulded doorway with a trefoil cornice moulding, similar to that of the Bush. All the listed buildings on the south side of Main Street form a group value context.
