Description

PAPCASTLE PAPCASTLE NY 13 SW 5/194 Croft House and adjoining former stables G.V. II House and former stables. Late C17 with C19 alterations. Painted incised stucco with eaves cornice, under graduated greenslate roof with incised rendered chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with left 3-bay (formerly 4-bay) stable under common roof. Panelled door and overlight in painted stone architrave under console-bracketed cornice. Sash windows in painted stone surrounds. Stable has cross-passage plank door in chamfered surround under hoodmould. Central plank door with loft doorway above in chamfered stone surrounds. C20 plank garage doors to left. Small original chamfered stone-surround windows above, 2 on right blocked and replaced by Victorian sash window. Interior of house has beamed ceilings on ground-floor and in bedrooms. Included for group value with Papcastle House.
