Description

A late 17th-century farmhouse with an adjoining barn, altered in the 20th century. The farmhouse has whitewashed rendered walls and a graduated greenslate roof, with 19th and 20th-century brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high with three bays, and originally had a byre to the left, all under a common roof, and a lower barn to the right. A plank door sits within a chamfered surround in the cross-passage entrance. There are two-light, chamfered stone-mullioned windows, and two small ground-floor chamfered fire windows. A casement window above the entrance is set within a 19th-century painted stone surround, and a 20th-century window is found in the former byre. The barn has slit vents at two levels, with plank doors and loft doors to the rear. Inside the farmhouse, a stone architrave is visible under a Tudor-arched doorway leading from the cross passage. Other interior features include a stone heck partition, a fire beam, and an end room to the right with a beamed ceiling. A chamfered-surround doorway leads from the cross passage into the byre.
