Description
Boltongate Farm is a former farmhouse now serving as a private house, with a datestone indicating it was built in 1687. The building features roughcast over sandstone rubble and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes roughcast chimney stacks, one of which is a broad 17th-century gable stack on the right. The structure is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with a rear extension that creates an overall L-shape. The right two bays retain original stone-mullioned windows with chamfered surrounds, featuring one, two, and three lights. The larger two- and three-light stone-mullioned windows on the left are from the 20th century, as are the windows at the rear and in the extension. There are also 20th-century half plank doors at the rear and in the extension.
