Description

Nos 43 and 44 on Duke Street are late Georgian buildings dating from 1814. They have been occupied by the same firm since 1830. The exterior is now pebbledashed and features a good cornice and parapet, along with end pilasters. The buildings stand three storeys tall and have a panelled door accessed by five steps, set in a doorcase with Tuscan pilasters, a cornice, and a pediment. The ground floor has five sash windows, while each upper floor has six sash windows, all within moulded architraves. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 43 to 50, Nos 52 to 55, Nos 65 to 76, and the Town Hall.
