Description

The Town Hall, located at 1 Duke Street, was built in 1814, with elements from a late 17th century building incorporated into its design. It was created by architect William Barnes. The structure has two storeys and features five windows on the upper floor, each adorned with large cornices and console brackets. The central window is topped with a curved pediment. The entrance includes a porch supported by four Tuscan columns, with flanking Venetian windows. The Town Hall is part of a group that includes Nos 43 to 50, Nos 52 to 55, and Nos 65 to 76 on Duke Street.
