Description
The Beeches and adjoining barn is a farmhouse and barn dated 1756, featuring the initials T. & S.S. above the entrance. The building is constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork set on a chamfered stone plinth, with flush calciferous sandstone quoins. It has a graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and kneelers, and end brick chimney stacks. The barn, which is of similar brickwork and quoins, has a sandstone slate roof. The structure is two storeys high with four bays, and the barn to the left has a lower roof line.
A 20th-century door is set in a stone architrave with a keyed entablature, which is dated and inscribed, and features a moulded cornice. The farmhouse has sash windows with glazing bars in stone architraves. The right part of the barn is incorporated into the house and includes 19th-century two-pane sash windows, with a 20th-century casement window above. The loft has circular vent stones on the ground floor, along with blocked slit vents and a loft above.
