Description
Orchard House and an adjoining barn date to 1816, as indicated by the inscription "P & J H 1816" above the entrance. The house is built of painted incised stucco under a green slate roof with a coped gable on the left side and kneeler details. Chimney stacks are roughcast. The barn has a damaged roof. The building is two storeys high, with a three-bay arrangement and a right-angled barn extending from it, all under a shared roof. A panelled door is set in a painted stone surround. The windows are a mix of sash and casement types, all with painted stone architraves. The barn has a large plank cart doorway set in a simple opening. The right return wall features plank doors and casement windows in plain reveals. The property is listed for its group value with Springfield Farmhouse.
