Description
The lych gate and churchyard wall, built around 1903, are located to the west of St Michael's Church. The low ashlar wall is approximately 3 feet high. The wooden superstructure of the gate is splayed and stands on battered ashlar plinths, which include integral stone benches on their inner sides. The woodwork features Gothic cusping and an inscription. The roof is made of graduated slate and has a cross in a small gabled opening at the center front. To the left, there is a drinking trough in a niche, which has a semicircular bowl and an inscription above it. The belvedere at the corner has entrances from both the roadside and the churchyard, featuring two circular-plan projections with a stone bench at the rear. Adjoining the belvedere to the west is a castellated snecked rubble wall that has a drum-shaped end pier with a battered plinth and a conical cap.
