Description

The Cross Lacon, located in the garden to the south of the Dower House, is a medieval wheel-headed cross, possibly dating from the 13th century. It features a square stone plinth block with deep chamfers on all sides. The plinth has a dated sans serif inscription on two sides: "CROSS LACON" on the west side and "REMOVED FROM ROADSIDE 1911" on the east side. The monolithic tapering cross shaft, which has chamfered edges and a wheel-head, stands approximately 4 feet high, though the upper arm is missing.
