Description
Stoneywath Farmhouse is a house from the early 18th century with later additions and alterations. The original front features incised stucco with end pilasters and a cornice, while the scullery added to the left is pebble-dashed with an extended cornice. The roof is hipped at the east end, covered with graduated slate on the front pitch and 20th-century concrete tiles on the rear. The house has rendered chimneys, while the scullery chimney is made of brick. It is two storeys high with the original house having three symmetrical bays. The central part-glazed door is set in a pedimented architrave, flanked by sash windows with glazing bars, all within shouldered architraves. The single bay scullery features a 20th-century part-glazed door in a stone surround. Inside, there are some early 18th-century two-panelled doors along with later six-panelled doors. A stone dog-leg stair added at the rear has a closed string with turned balusters and newels, along with a moulded handrail.
