Description

Banks Foot is a farmhouse with adjoining outbuildings, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from a mix of calciferous and red sandstone rubble, featuring raised V-jointed quoins and a plain cornice. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and there are yellow brick chimney stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and three bays, with L-shaped outbuildings to the right.

The main entrance consists of a six-panel door with a glazed fanlight, set within a quoined surround that includes a keyed entablature. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, framed by plain stone surrounds. At the rear, there is a staircase window with intersecting glazing bars set in a round-headed arch.

The two-storey outbuilding has a lower roofline and features sash windows with glazing bars closest to the house. There are small ground floor openings to the right, with slit vents above them. An extension to the right has round-arched ground floor openings and plank loft doors above, with external stone steps leading to the loft on the end wall.

Adjacent to the right is a hexagonal gin-gang, which has a steeply pitched hipped green slate roof and features partly glazed windows on each face. The listing does not include 20th-century outbuildings.
