Farmhouse and barn. Dated and inscribed over archway J & M.S. 1774. Painted rendered brick walls with painted V-jointed quoins on chamfered plinth. Graduated greenslate roof with brick chimney stacks. Barn of coursed red sandstone rubble under graduated greenslate roof. 2-storey, 2-bay farmhouse with lower extension and barn under common roof; right-angled extension to rear. Sash windows in painted stone architraves. C20 door in quoined surround in extension to left with small casement window above. Carriage arch to left has keyed and quoined surround with dated keystone. Extension to rear of house has long C20 glazed porch. Plank door to left, in painted stone surround, and C20 garage door to right. Sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds. Barn has oval vents to front. Rear has 2 carriage arches to left, large cart entrance to right. Plank doors and slit vents. Illustrated, John Prizeman, Your House: The Outside View, plate 7.
