Description

Nos 2 and 4 Castlegate is a late Georgian building featuring three storeys. The exterior is finished in scored stucco and includes moulded eaves, pilaster strips, and bands at the sill levels. The entrance has two panelled doors with fanlights, set within moulded stone architraves. On the ground floor, there are four sash windows, while each of the upper floors has five sash windows, all framed by plain stone architraves with sills supported on brackets. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 10 (even) and Nos 1 to 13 (odd), as well as Nos 14 to 28 (even) and Nos 30 and 30A Market Place.
