Description

The Market Hall, built in 1881 to designs by architect Thomas Lewis Banks, is a notable structure located prominently on King Street, the main shopping street. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features two storeys with a heavy cornice above the ground floor. At the center, there is a clock tower topped with a domed roof and a large round-headed window on the upper floor. The front of the building is bayed out and includes a tower, while the left side is buttressed and has two storeys of windows, with a cornice above the upper windows.
