Description

The lodge to the east of Castletown, likely built in 1811, is constructed from calciferous sandstone ashlar and features a chamfered plinth and large flush quoins. It has a graduated slate roof and ashlar chimney stacks. The building is single storey and consists of 2 bays. A tetrastyle pedimented portico is supported by squared columns and includes a moulded entablature, along with the carved arms of the Mounsey family. The entrance has a 4-panel door topped with a glazed fanlight. Sash windows with glazing bars are framed by pilaster strip surrounds.
