Description
Town Head is a house from the mid-18th century, constructed of painted stucco. It features a chamfered stone plinth, raised stone quoins, a modillioned cornice with a parapet, and stone dressings. The roof is made of graduated slate and has brick chimney stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays.
The entrance includes a six-panel door with a radial fanlight, which is flanked by engaged Doric columns supporting a block entablature and an open moulded pediment. On either side of the entrance are tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, each surrounded by moulded stone.
On the first floor, there is a central sash window with glazing bars, flanked by double sash windows, all with moulded stone surrounds. The second floor features 20th-century casements with partial glazing bars. A door at the gabled roof provides access to the parapet.
