Description
Westnewton Grange and the adjoining stables/barn are a farmhouse and outbuilding dating from the mid-19th century, with a late 19th-century extension. The building features painted stucco with V-jointed quoins and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof and stucco chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a lower three-bay extension and an L-shaped stables/barn to the left. The main entrance has a panelled door with a glazed overlight set in an Ionic porch. There are sash windows, with those on the ground floor located under console-bracketed hoods, while the upper windows have glazing bars. The extension includes a panelled door within a stucco porch and a central two-light bay window flanked by sash windows under console-bracketed hoods. A first-floor gabled dormer window is also present. The stables/barn features a plank door with flanking casement windows and a through-arch to the left, which has an oval vent above it.
