Description

This chest tomb, dating from the mid-18th century, is located approximately 5 meters south of the southeast angle of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter in Cogenhoe. It is made of limestone with an ironstone ledger and commemorates Robert Sible, who died in 1745. The tomb features baluster corners and a cartouche of arms on the west end. On the south side, there are two upright oval inscription panels framed by sprays of flowers and foliage, which are divided at the top by a winged cherub's head.
