Description
Oakmoor House is a mid-18th century house constructed from ironstone and plastered, featuring a corrugated iron roof over thatch, along with three brick ridge and end stacks. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range. The first floor includes three 19th-century two-light casement windows with 12 panes each. On the ground floor, there are two 19th-century three-light casement windows with 18 panes each, and one 20th-century three-light window to the right, all featuring wooden lintels. The entrance has a 20th-century part-glazed door framed by an 18th-century surround with pilasters and a small entablature above. The roof, which has been raised, displays stone coped gables and kneelers. Inside, the roof is said to retain its original timbers beneath the thatch, and there are some stop-chamfered beams. The passage features an original stone-flagged floor.
