Description

The Statue of Winter, located approximately 20 meters southwest of the Manor House in Ashby St. Ledgers, is an early 18th-century limestone statue. It depicts a bearded man holding a chalice, symbolizing "Winter." The statue stands on a moulded ironstone plinth and is part of a group of statues representing "The Seasons," which includes a central figure of "Atlas." This group is noted to have been part of a formal garden layout from around 1700 at the Manor House.
