Description

The Grand Union Canal Bridge Number 58 is an accommodation bridge located in Grafton Regis. It was built between 1793 and 1880, with some alterations made in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The bridge follows a standard design, likely created by William Jessop. It is constructed of brick and features stone arch rings. The bridge has a single elliptical arch that is slightly cambered, along with solid parapets and piers. Notable features include a blue brick dogtooth band, half-round blue brick parapet copings, and pyramidal concrete caps on the piers. The arch is protected by two iron rope fenders.
