Description

The Lodge is a single-storey lodge built in the early 19th century, with later additions. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble that has been painted, and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan. The end elevation facing the road includes a semi-circular rustic portico supported by six tree-trunk columns, which are engaged at either end. In the center, there is a round-arched plank door with pierced spandrels and a porch. This door is flanked by two-light casement windows that have round-arched heads. The side elevations also feature similar round-arched windows. One wing of the lodge is made of painted brick and has two-light casements with segmental-arched heads.
