Description
Old Dower House is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a plain-tile roof with brick end stacks, one of which is set on a stone base. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range, following a two-unit plan.
The entrance, located at the far right, consists of a 19th-century part-glazed panelled door that is framed by a pilastered wood surround and topped with a gabled porch. The house has 12-pane sash windows on both the ground and first floors, each with ogee-stop-chamfered wood lintels, some of which include additional bar stops. The gables are stone-coped and supported by kneelers.
To the left, there is a two-story, one-window extension, and to the right, a two-story, two-window extension, both likely added in the 19th century. Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams, some of which have bar stops.
