Description

Bekenpenn is an early to mid-18th century cottage, originally built as a pair of cottages. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a plain-tile roof and a brick end stack. It has a 6-window front, arranged over two storeys. Originally, it comprised two units. A 20th-century gabled porch was added to the right of the centre. The ground and first floors each have two-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The section to the right of the centre is lower, having originally been one storey and an attic, and was likely raised in the 19th century. Ironstone quoins are present. Internally, the cottage features chamfered spine beams, some original ogee-stop-chamfered joists, and a collar truss roof.
