Description
Longcroft is a cottage dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building is two stories high and has a four-window range, following a three-unit plan. There is a panel door located to the left of center, which has a wooden lintel above it. The cottage has two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, except for a 16-pane sash window to the right of the door; all windows are topped with wooden lintels. The gables are finished with brick copings. To the right, there is a single-storey lean-to extension made of brick. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest. According to deeds held by the owner, the cottage was built in 1752.
