Description

Avon Well is a garden feature located approximately 50 metres south of Manor Farmhouse. It dates from around 1822 and consists of a cast iron cone with a simple fountain head at the top. The well is set on a rubble stone plinth, which is situated in a shallow basin with rubble stone sides. There is an inscription at the front that reads, "Source of the Avon 1822," and a painted inscription at the rear that states, "Renovated by W.T. Cragg, Arthingworth 1975."
