Description

This is a monument located on Sibbertoft Road in Naseby, built around 1936 by J.A. Batch. It is made of limestone ashlar and features an octagonal ribbed shaft topped with a ball finial, resting on an octagonal panelled plinth. The front of the plinth has an inscription that reads: "Battle of Naseby, 14 June 1645. From near this site Oliver Cromwell had the Cavalry charge which decided the issue of the battle and ultimately that of the great Civil War." The reverse of the plinth notes that "This memorial was accepted on behalf of the county by the Chairman of the County Council 18 May 1936."
