Description

The Orchards is a detached house located on School Street in Drayton, dating from the 17th century or earlier. It stands back from the road, screened by walls and trees. The main block is constructed of coursed rubble with a red brick cornice and an old tiled roof. The house has two storeys and features two nearly flush casement windows with glazing bars beneath wooden lintels. To the right, there is a lower wing with a loft door on the first floor. A modern cross wing, finished in whitewashed pebbledash, is situated on the left side of the building.
