Description
No. 7 The Green is a cottage dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a corrugated asbestos roof over thatch, with a brick ridge stack set on a stone base. The cottage has a two-unit lobby-entry plan and is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. A central 20th-century lean-to porch is located at the front, while the ground floor has two-light casement windows, and the first floor has three-light casements on either side of a central one-light casement, all with wooden lintels. The right gable end faces the street and includes three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, as well as a two-light casement in the attic, all featuring wooden lintels. Inside, there are bar-stop-chamfered spine beams and blocked inglenooks back-to-back in the central stack, along with a purlin roof.
