Description
No. 18 The Green is a cottage from the 18th century that has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, which is painted, and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks, the ridge stack resting on a stone base. The cottage is two stories high and has a one-window range with a two-unit plan. A central 20th-century gabled porch provides access.
On the ground floor, there is a two-light casement window to the left and a three-light casement window to the right, both with wooden lintels. Above these, in an eyebrow dormer, is a three-light casement window also with a wooden lintel. To the right of the cottage, there is a two-story, two-window 20th-century extension that is connected by a short single-storey link; this extension is not of special architectural interest.
Inside, the cottage features a chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
