Description

The Old Manse is an early 19th-century manse, later converted into a house. It is constructed of painted brick with a slate roof and has a two-unit plan. The house has two storeys and a three-window front, featuring sashes with glazing bars at the first floor, set within gauged brick heads. The ground floor has two-centred bays with sashes and glazing bars. A central four-panelled door is set within a moulded wooden doorcase, topped with a fanlight. Overhanging eaves are present on the gables, and brick stacks sit at the ends of the building. A later 19th-century wing was added to the rear. The interior contains some original panelled doors and panelling to the window soffit in the room to the left.
