Description

Prince Rupert's Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It features a timber frame with some cob, brick, and stone infill, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage has a three-unit plan and is two stories high, presenting a three-window range of casements under wood lintels. The first-floor windows include eyebrow dormers. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of the center, and a central brick chimney stack. Evidence of the timber frame can be seen between the windows. To the right, there is a single-storey extension, likely from the late 18th century, which shows some visible timber framing in its gable. Inside, the room to the left of the entrance features an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
