Description
Wellcroft House is a house dating from 1750, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone with a slate roof and has a single unit plan. The building stands two storeys high and features a one-window range of casements with glazing bars set beneath wooden lintels. To the left, there is a 19th-century six-panelled door with glazed top lights, also under a wooden lintel. The house has an ashlar gable parapet and kneelers, with a brick stack at one end. There is a datestone to the right of the window that reads 1575, which is likely reset, and an inscription to the left of the window that is partially legible, mentioning John Buswell and his wives. The datestone from 1750 is located on the right gable. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer.
