Description
The well head, located approximately 20 metres north-west of the Manor House in Ashby St. Ledgers, is a Grade II listed structure. It is likely of medieval origin and features Italian design elements. Made of marble, the well head has an arcaded rim supported by head corbels. The sides are intricately carved with reliefs depicting a fleur-de-lys, a stylised tree, and bunches of grapes, all framing a roundel. Originally, it served a practical purpose but is now used as a garden ornament.
