Description
The School House is a house built in the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and features a plain tile roof with brick end stacks on stone bases. The building has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set in a moulded wood surround, topped with an overlight, and is accessed by a semi-circular stone step. The ground and first floors have cross windows, and all windows and the door are adorned with stone lintels that include keyblocks. The eaves are moulded and coved, and the gables are stone-coped with kneelers. Inside, the house contains chamfered spine beams, open fireplaces, and a winder stair with turned balusters leading to the first-floor landing rail.
