Description

The Whittlebury War Memorial is located on the green where Church Way meets the High Street. It features a 2.75-meter high wheel-headed Celtic cross made of Weldon limestone, adorned with intricate raised interlace decoration on its front face and shaft. The cross shaft is set upon a squat, tapered plinth that bears the inscription "IN MEMORIAM 1914-1919 / (9 NAMES) / FOR KING AND COUNTRY." The memorial is situated in a small paved area, which is enclosed by nine low wooden posts that support a chain.
