Description
Redmoor House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-17th century. It is built of squared coursed lias stone and has a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with a cross wing that projects at the rear. It stands two storeys high with an attic. The road-facing elevation features a two-window range of two- and four-light stone mullion windows. On the ground floor, there is one six-light stone mullion window and two 20th-century casement windows to the right. The cross wing to the right includes one two-light stone mullion attic window. A moulded stone string course runs between the storeys, and there are brick and stone stacks at each end. The rear and left side elevations have a mix of two-, three-, and four-light stone mullion windows.
Inside, the room to the left of the entrance has a large 17th-century open fireplace with a moulded stone surround and stop-chamfered ceiling beams. The first-floor room directly above features a similar small fireplace.
