Description
The canal garden, located approximately 50 meters east of the Manor House, was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens around 1909 to 1912. It features a canal set within a paved sunken garden that includes herbaceous borders. The garden is bordered by retaining walls made of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, with short flights of steps leading down to the canal. The canal has an apsidal end with a cross arm and connects to a parterre, also designed by Lutyens, to the east of the Manor House.
