Description
The statue of "Summer" is located approximately 5 metres southwest of the Manor House in Ashby St. Ledgers. It dates from the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The statue depicts a female figure holding a cornucopia of fruit, symbolizing "Summer". It stands on a moulded ironstone plinth, which is badly eroded. This statue is part of a group representing "The Seasons", which includes a central figure of "Atlas". It is noted to have been part of a formal garden layout from around 1700 at the Manor House.
