Description
Poplars Farm is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias stone and features a thatched roof. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-window range of sash windows that have glazing bars, all set beneath stone lintels with keyblocks. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with glazed top lights, also under a stone lintel with a keyblock. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers, and there are brick and stone stacks at both ends. To the left, there is a lower two-window range, likely from the mid-18th century as well, which includes two sash windows on the ground floor and two casement windows on the first floor, one of which has leaded lights. This section also features an ashlar gable parapet, kneelers, and a stone stack at the end. Although the interior has not been inspected, it has been noted that the room to the left of the entrance contains an open fireplace with a bressumer.
