Description

Clatercote House and Clatercote House Restaurant is an early 18th-century house and restaurant, originally a single house. A datestone inscribed E.C./R.E./1709 indicates the year of construction. The building is constructed of squared coursed lias stone and has an asbestos tile roof. It is arranged in an L-shape with two storeys and an attic. The main front has a three-window range featuring 20th-century casement windows within original openings, each set beneath stone lintels with keyblocks. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, and brick and stone stacks at the ends. A rear wing also features a three-window range of casements, with wooden lintels above. A roof dormer includes some leaded lights. The interior remains uninspected.
