Description
The Dolphin Inn is a public house that was originally a house, built in the 18th century. A datestone at the rear indicates it was constructed in 1717. The building is made of squared coursed ironstone and has a slate roof with brick stacks. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features three bays. The street-facing side has two 19th-century angular bay windows on the ground floor. Above, there are two three-light windows with plain stone frames, wooden mullions, and iron casements. On the left side, there are wooden casement windows that retain their original flat stone arches with keystones. A sundial is positioned above one of the first-floor windows. The entrance is located at the rear and features a wooden lintel with a 20th-century door. Inside, there are chamfered joists and an open fireplace.
